Social media has become the talk of recruitment town. Easily accessible to anyone with internet access. Social media gives us a platform to talk to the world. It's good old word of mouth, but without geographic limitations. Companies and organisations can swap broadcasting with conserving, giving the customer, or in our case the candidate a voice to answer back. This increases brand awareness and can raise the profile of an organisation.

Facebook alone, has 3.5 million active pages, with 20 million people becoming fans on these pages every day, sharing 5 billion pieces of content each and every week. If it was a country it would be the third largest in the world! 

 

A quick straw poll in our office found 70% of our grandparents were either on Facebook or asking about it, not exactly the most comprehensive research but you get the point.

Recruiting through Social media is still relatively unproven versus every other recruitment media available, yet the potential is breathtaking and very exciting. There are tons of different things you can do from advertising, social management, social monitoring, Facebook pages, as well as a few things that haven’t been invented yet. But we’re working on that. We were the first agency to build a recruitment social networking site after all.
